"Public Enemies"

Let me start this review by saying, I am a girl, so when I saw the cover of this movie.... I stopped in my tracks and HAD to read what it was about. I mean Johnny Depp(Pirates of the Caribbean)? Christian Bale(The Dark Knight)? Channing Tatum("Stop-loss", and the "Step Up" movies)? It has to be good, simply for the cast of guys!!! Which, of course, the movie did not disappoint me.

This movie is rated "R" for gangster violence and some language. As a warning to all, if you are shy about blood, do not watch this movie. Shots are fired from guns and the wounds are realistic for a gun-shot.

The movie itself, is about the life of FBI Public Enemy Number 1, John Dillinger. The movie is amazing and I would watch it again. To my studies it is mostly very accurate. Watch the trailer here...

There are a few things that should have been done differently, of which I will not say for I am not a spoiler. I will say, the ending needs to speak more about what became of some very important characters.

"bye, bye blackbird"

"Angels and Demons"

Angels and Demons is a fast-paced thrill ride, and in my humble opinion, very good.

After the death of the Pope, the conclave has gathered in a locked room to choose his successor among four cardinals named "preferitti". However the quartet is abducted by the Illuminati, a secret brotherhood that was supposed extinct. The symbologist, Robert Langdon, and the scientist, Vittoria Vetra, who had her powerful and dangerous prototype of antimatter research stolen, are invited by the Vatican police to help them in their investigation. They are received by the receptive Camerlengo, Patrick McKenna, and by the reluctant Commander Richter. They are informed that the Illuminati have promised to kill each cardinal every hour from 8:00 PM and then explode the Vatican City with the antimatter. Robert and Vittoria have a few hours to unravel the clues and discover where the lethal weapon might be hidden.

Again, quite a movie worth renting. Sure to surprise you at the end.........

Library woes...

So yesterday I was at my local library and to my great surprise there was a new lady at the reference desk. Claiming to be the branch supervisor. I thought to myself "where is Mrs. Eddy? Is there more than one branch supervisor?"

When I go to the library it is either to A) meet my math teacher, B) get a book I have on hold, C) look for books or D) volunteer my time reading to younger kids. No matter my reason for being there, Mrs. Eddy was always behind the reference desk to say "hi"and give me directions to where my book was located. She even showed me how to work the online catalog this last summer.

I am not sure where she is, but I hope she is doing well.

Here is to Mrs. Eddy.

First Day

So this is my first blog post...
I am not entirely sure what to say. I plan to write reviews of books I read and post them here. I should be able to post a new review at least once a month, starting later this month.
